Indiana University basketball recruiting target Romeo Langford played the last game of the regular season of his senior year in of all places — Bloomington.  Langford had another big game with 46 points, including 32 in the first half. New Albany improved to 21-1 on the season and has now won 18 games in a row as it moves into sectional play.  The Bulldogs have a first round sectional bye and will play the winner of Seymour and Jennings County on Friday. Langford needs 283 points to catch Damon Bailey.  If New Albany advances to the state championship game it…

It’s only the beginning, and already just about every major college basketball program has been somehow connected with the ongoing FBI corruption investigation.  First, a Yahoo! story implicated players from more than 20 Division I men’s basketball programs as possibly breaking NCAA rules through violations. Various other stories have broken since, including some with Indiana connections.  Take a look at the news that has broken thus far with an Indiana link: JARED JEFFRIES At this point, Jeffries’ name simply appeared on a piece of paper showing that he took a $4,827.77 loan from his agent Andy Miller.  It isn’t clear…

As I left my media seat after last week’s Indiana victory over Illinois and started to make my way down to the press room I was struck by something I heard legendary IU public address announcer Chuck Crabb say.  He simply said that the game was a sellout.  Nothing controversial there right?  This was a Big Ten game, and this is Indiana.  Of course it was a sellout. The reason Crabb’s statement caught my attention on this night was because for the last 2 hours the view to my left was the picture above.  Doesn’t exactly look like a sellout,…

Indiana has found ways to win this year with ball security and energy.  On this night against Nebraska, Indiana was sorely lacking in both.  Indiana has changed its turnover prone reputation from last year, cutting about 2 turnovers per game off its average.  Tonight IU tied its highest turnover total on the season with 19.  While the Hoosiers no doubt brought energy on the defensive end, the Cornhuskers were able to regularly chase down offensive rebounds to create second opportunities.  It added up to a 66-57 Nebraska win as the Hoosiers’ 4 game winning streak is snapped.  IU hosts Ohio…
