Marco Killingsworth was one of the nation’s most highly sought after high school basketball players in the 2001 recruiting class. While recruiting services were not nearly as prevalent as they are today, the Birmingham, Alabama native was on the radar of virtually every major program in the country. A product of Central Park Christian Academy, Killingsworth was a first team Parade All-American who was ranked as the third-best power forward in the country by Hoop Scoop (12th overall player), Border Wars and Athlon’s. Killingsworth’s 30 points, 13 rebounds and seven blocks per game and .670 field goal percentage led Central…

When Indiana and Michigan State last met on Groundhog Day, the Spartans had a week to mull over a bad loss to Purdue and prepare for Indiana. The Hoosiers outplayed the Spartans and stunned MSU 79-75 in overtime at The Breslin Center. Michigan State has had nearly four weeks to stew over that loss to IU, and they’ve since regained their footing despite notable injuries.  The Spartans are currently riding a five game winning streak. The Hoosiers and Spartans are set to meet again, and this time around MSU is coming off a great win in Ann Arbor over Michigan…

Khalil Iverson had been a thorn in Romeo Langford’s side for the entire game. At the end of regulation, Indiana’s star freshman had 13 points (4 under his average) on just 4 of 10 shooting from the field.  Openings were hard to find, and shots were hard to come by against Wisconsin’s senior guard. Iverson was playing with good energy on both ends of the floor and was overplaying Langford’s right hand off the dribble all night, and doing so with a reasonably high degree of effectiveness. After 50 minutes of game action, it is sometimes the tiniest of nuances…

Not on this night. Not even the angry voodoo demons that have seemingly possessed this team and sabotaged this season could hold back Indiana on Tuesday night at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall. Not even the Wisconsin Badgers, who came into the game winners of 19 of the last 21 over IU could come away with a victory on the Branch McCracken Court where the Hoosiers had lost five in a row, and 12 of 13 overall. Not even a sick De’Ron Davis or fouled out Justin Smith, Al Durham and Juwan Morgan was enough. It took double overtime, but this…

Indiana defeated Wisconsin in double overtime on Tuesday evening at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall in Bloomington. The Hoosiers (14-14, 5-12) host Michigan State on Saturday. THREE KEYS TO THE GAME 1. Indiana overcame a lot of adversity to finally get a win. De’Ron Davis threw up right before the game.  Juwan Morgan, Justin Smith and Al Durham all fouled out.  Race Thompson played about as many minutes tonight as he has played all year.  Indiana had lost 12 of 13 contests and gave up several opportunities to win this game.  They hadn’t won at home since Illinois in early January. …

On paper, Wisconsin is not the cure for what ails Indiana.  Not based on the recent history anyway. The Badgers come into Bloomington tonight having won five straight against the Hoosiers since January 2016 and 19 of the past 21 meetings dating back to 2008. When you combine that recent head-to-head futility with Indiana’s struggles this year it is difficult to imagine an IU victory.  But these Hoosiers haven’t given up, and all indications are that it will be another close contest where the team that makes plays late will come out on top. With a favorable schedule to close…
