Former Indiana University guard Wes Martin has been drafted by the Washington Redskins in the fourth round of the 2019 NFL Draft. Martin was the 131st overall selection. https://twitter.com/IndianaFootball/status/1122196744257798144 Martin was widely expected to be drafted, but the fourth round selection was sooner than what most services had predicted. Although he was not invited to the NFL Combine, a strong showing at IU’s pro day might have contributed. The Indiana University football program has seen its former players get drafted into the NFL for five consecutive years. If that streak is going to continue into 2019, it probably won’t happen until the later rounds. That is going to make for some nervous moments for several former Hoosiers. You knew about Romeo Langford and Devonte Green. Now add two more IU names to the NBA Draft early entry list. The league released its official list of early entry candidates last night and couple more Hoosier names appeared. Guard Al Durham and forward Justin Smith have both also entered their names for consideration. Both players just completed their sophomore seasons at Indiana. Smith averaged 8.2 points and 4.5 rebounds per game for 2018-19 season while shooting 49.6% from the field overall and 21.9% from behind the three-point line. For the second time in less than a week, Indiana will have a prominent four-star guard on its campus as it tries to round out its 2019 recruiting class. The Hoosiers struck out with Anthony Harris, who chose North Carolina on Tuesday night. Next up is shooting guard Lester Quinones, who arrived in Bloomington on Wednesday. After yielding 14 runs to Indiana last week, Ball State’s pitchers appeared to have done enough on Tuesday night in Indianapolis to give them a chance in the bottom of the ninth.
