Indiana University men’s basketball coach Mike Woodson has announced that Tamar Bates, Michael Durr, Xavier Johnson, Khristian Lander and Parker Stewart will not play tonight against Northwestern for disciplinary reasons. With Rob Phinisee out due to injury, that leaves seven scholarship players available for tonight’s game against the Wildcats. The starting lineup will be Anthony Leal, Trey Galloway, Miller Kopp, Race Thompson and Trayce Jackson-Davis according to Woodson. Logan Duncomb and Jordan Geronimo are available off the bench. Indiana appears to have completed a quick search to find Deland McCullough’s replacement. According to a report by Adam Rittenberg of ESPN, IU will hire long-time NFL coach Craig Johnson to take on the associate head coach and running back coach roles vacated by McCullough. The 61-year-old Johnson spent the last two years as an analyst on the Maryland staff, prior to a two-decade career in the NFL. The Indiana women completed their third-straight season sweep of Purdue on Sunday afternoon before a crowd of 7,891 at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall in Bloomington. The Hoosiers pulled out to a 49-30 lead in the third quarter and held on for 64-57 win to improve to 16-3 overall and 8-1 in the Big Ten. Nicole Cardano-Hillary led IU with 19 points and 7 rebounds.
