7-foot-2 and 270-pound SMU transfer center Samet Yiğitoğlu has committed to IU basketball, ESPN’s Jonathan Givony is reporting.
As a sophomore for SMU in 2025-26, Yiğitoğlu started all 34 games. He averaged 10.7 points, 7.9 rebounds, 1.3 blocks, and 1.6 assists. He shot 62.8% from the field.
In 2024-25 as a freshman, Yiğitoğlu played/started 32 of 35 games for SMU. He averaged 10.0 points, 6.2 rebounds, 1.0 blocks. He shot 53.5% from the field.
He is 1 of 6 in two years from beyond the 3-point arc, and a career 53.1% free throw shooter.
The 22-year-old has two years of eligibility remaining.
Prior to arriving at SMU, he averaged 13.3 points, 10.3 rebounds, 1.0 blocks and shot 82.6% on FGs in four games with Sigortam Istanbul in Turkey in 2023-24.
