Sheridan became the new offensive coordinator this winter when Kalen DeBoer left for Fresno State. Penix, a redshirt sophomore, enters his third season at IU and the second as the starter.
Indiana opens the 2020 season on the weekend of Oct. 24 at home against Penn State.
