Report: Walk-on Vijay Blackmon to Transfer From Indiana

The roster reconstruction continues at Indiana.

After yesterday’s announcement that sophomore forward Clifton Moore would transfer, today comes the news that walk-on Vijay Blackmon is also looking for another opportunity.

A 2019 Academic All-Big Ten guard, Blackmon appeared in seven games during the 2018-19 season, scoring seven points in 12 minutes of action.  Five of his points came in the season opening win over Chicago State.

The younger brother of former IU star James Blackmon, Jr., Vijay transferred to Indiana from St. Francis (Ind.) and sat out the 2017-18 season under the NCAA transfer rules.

Indiana is currently evaluating Vijay’s younger brother Jalen as a potential recruiting target in the class of 2021.

Vijay, a Marion, Ind. native, is an exercise science major at Indiana and he is scheduled to graduate this spring.  His departure marks the fourth walk-on to move on from IU after the 2018-19 season.

Zach McRoberts, Johnny Jager and Quentin Taylor are also leaving the program.  McRoberts and Taylor utilized all of their eligibility.

Indiana has added new preferred walk-on Nathan Childress for the 2019-20 sesason.
