National recruiting analyst calls Indiana favorite to land 5-star QB Julian Lewis

Indiana appears to have a very good chance to land 5-star class of 2025 quarterback Julian Lewis.

Although he is currently a USC verbal commit, Lewis has visited Indiana multiple times in 2024 as the new Hoosiers staff has been pushing hard for a flip.  He took an official visit to Bloomington over Memorial Day weekend.

Ranked the No. 3 overall quarterback in the 2025 class according to the On3 Industry Average, and the No. 22 overall player, Lewis has a close connection to Indiana quarterbacks coach Tino Sunseri.

USC, Auburn and Colorado have joined Indiana as the main four schools competing for the Carrollton, Ga. product over the last few months.

But it now seems safe to say Indiana is trending as the favorite for Lewis.

On Monday, 247Sports national recruiting analyst Tom Loy said he not only expects Lewis to decommit from USC, he also projects IU as the leader in his recruitment.

Watch what Loy had to say:

“I do NOT expect him sticking with his pledge to the Trojans… Right now I give the edge to Indiana over Colorado and the field.” 🗣️@TomLoy247 with the latest intel on 4⭐️ USC QB commit Julian “JuJu” Lewis 👀 pic.twitter.com/x5TPQZ063b

The 6-foot-1 and 185-pound Lewis reclassified from 2026 to 2025.

In his sophomore season, he finished the season with 3,094 passing yards and 48 touchdowns. He only threw two interceptions in 13 games. The Carrollton offense averaged 39.0 points per game. He also threw for over 4,000 yards and 48 TDs as a freshman a season ago.

Indiana’s 2025 class is currently ranked No. 49 nationally and 14th in the Big Ten.  They do not currently have a quarterback commit in the class.
