Indiana and SHSU tip-off at 7:30 p.m. ET on BTN.

    ———————————————————————–

FINAL: Indiana 97, Sam Houston 71

    SECOND HALF

Indiana up 87-62 with 3:32 left.

    • Hoosiers will give Langdon Hatton some minutes. I believe Jakai Newton was also warming up as well.
    • Great bounce back for Indiana after the Bahamas. Still, a lot of work to tune, but I do think they could easily compete for the top of the Big Ten.

Hoosiers lead 74-56 at the under-8 timeout.

    • Rice with a nice second half with nine points. Has shown off his quickness very well in transition.
    • A quietly productive night for Reneau as well. 13 points, eight rebounds, five assists, and two steals in 26 minutes.

The Hoosiers are up 59-47 with 11:56 in the game.

    • Indiana is in the bonus and one of Sam Houston’s bigs, Kian Scroggins, just fouled out. Lamar Wilkerson is also on the bench with four fouls.
    • Still, hasn’t been the cleanest half offensively for the Hoosiers. The Bearkats are outscoring Indiana 22-17.

Indiana leads 50-39 with 15:44 in the second half

    • Slow start defensively for the Hoosiers. Sam Houston is perfect from their last five attempts.
    • Indiana’s bench has had a fantastic game so far, and they go to it early in the second half. 17 points from the bench.

HALFTIME: Indiana 42, Sam Houston 25

    FIRST HALF

The Hoosiers lead 36-14 with 4:24 left in the half.

    • Goode lighting it up with 13 points. 4-5 from beyond the arc so far. Watch out if he gets it going.
    • Indiana is playing a very sound game so far. The only crack has been their turnovers. Up to six so far in the game.

Indiana up 26-12 with 7:56 left in the first half.

    • Goode is up to seven points as he knocks down another three. Indiana is 3-9 on 3s so far on the night.
    • The Hoosiers’s defense has started to look pretty solid. Sam Houston one for their last nine attempts.

Timeout Sam Houston and Indiana lead 20-11 with 9:24 left.

    • Spread out effort for the Hoosiers so far. Reneau leads with five points, Rice and Goode both with four.

Hoosiers take a 14-9 lead with 11:33 left in the first half

    • Indiana is doing a great job of pushing the pace in transition. Half of their points are from the fast break.
    • Lamar Wilkerson is the one to watch on Sam Houston. Very high-volume shooter, and averages 19 a game. Held to two points so far tonight.

All tied up at seven with 15:04 left in the half.

    • Indiana with three early turnovers to start. One for Ballo, Galloway, and Mgbako each.
    • I can tell you the energy in the building is very, very low. The student section is nowhere near full, and empty seats are spread sporadically throughout the main level.

    PREGAME NOTES

Kanaan Carlyle and Gabe Cupps are both listed as OUT in tonight’s matchup.

That clears the way for Trey Galloway to make his second straight start. Galloway had 18 points against Providence in Indiana’s final game in the Battle 4 Atlantis.

Woodson spoke pretty highly of Langdon Hatton’s play in the Bahamas. With some depth out, I would not be surprised to see him rotated in here and there.
