Indiana and the Buckeyes tip-off at 3:45 p.m. ET on CBS Sports.

    ———————————————————————–

FINAL: Indiana 66, Ohio State 60

    Image

    SECOND HALF

Trey Galloway with a deep ball, similar to where Jackson Shelstead shot to beat Indiana in their last game against Oregon. IU leads 63-58. It’s a free-throw game now.

Two Reneau free throws tie it up at 56. Jake Diebler takes a timeout with 3:30 left to play.

Four minutes to go, and OSU leads 56-54.

    • The last four minutes will determine a lot for the Hoosiers moving forward. Galloway and Reneau have been solid as Indiana’s two double-figure scorers so far. Expect the ball to be in their hands down the stretch.
    • IU has held the Buckeyes defensively well in the second half, allowing just 9-22 from the field. Bruce Thornton has been limited to seven points so far.

49-45 with 8:16 to go, Ohio State leads.

    • IU has made their last three from the field, and have a chance to convert on more. John Mobley Jr. looked like he extended his arm a bit into Leal’s head or neck area. Called a common foul on the floor, but reviewing for a flagrant.
    • There is a legitimate case to be made for Anthony Leal to appear on the Big Ten All-Defensive 1st Team. Only has two blocks to his name statistically, but no one has had a consistent night against him, team by team.

46-36 with 11:59 on the clock.

    • Oumar Ballo leads IU’s second-half scoring with four points. Goode has three, Mgbako has two, and Reneau has two. That’s it.

Hoosiers down 43-34 with 13:01 left to play.

    • Going to be an uphill battle the rest of the way for Indiana. Just 3-9 form the field, and Ohio State hasn’t missed their last three. Woodson is livid as they head into the timeout.
    • For IU, the opportunity did not get any better than today’s game. They’re a lock to play Oregon in the Big Ten Tournament next week, who I would call a much tougher opponent than Ohio State. Not to mention, their resume doesn’t look the greatest with a loss today.

Indiana still trails by four. 36-32 with 15:51 to play.

    • Hoosiers have looked a bit more polished on offense than they did in the first half. Still, they’ve only converted on 2-6 from the field.
    • Micah Parrish leads all scorers with 12 points on the day so far and has five in the second half already. He did pick up two quick fouls, but those are his only fouls in the game.

HALFTIME: Ohio State 29, Indiana 25

    FIRST HALF

Hoosiers cut it to 29-25 with 20 seconds on the clock. Jake Diebler is drawing up a play for the last shot.

26-19 Buckeye lead with 2:46 left in the half.

    • Very poor shooting half for Indiana. 7-25 from the field and 1-of-8 from three. They need to get something going before the end of the half.
    • Micah Parrish has had a solid outing for OSU so far in this game. He had 19 points in the last match,p with some time missing due to an injury. Seven points so far tonight.

17-12 OSU with 7:12 left in the first half.

    • Myles Rice breaks the scoring drought, but they are still one for their last five from the field. Rice broke a near four-minute drought with a made three.
    • Give credit to Ohio State’s perimeter defense, though. Multiple sets have been stalled or incomplete due to how high the Buckeyes play on defense. Usually, the inside opens up when that happens, but Indiana hasn’t been able to convert consistently.

Indiana can’t get anything to fall on offense. One for their last 12 attempts from the field. Woodson calls a timeout. 15-9 Buckeyes with 9:12 left.

Knotted up at nine heading into the under 12. 11:55 in the half left.

    • Cold shooting numbers so far for both teams. Indiana is 3-13 and Ohio State 4-11. The leading scorer in the game is Ballo with 5.
    • Malik Reneau and Myles Rice are about to check in for the Hoosiers. Reneau did not play in the last matchup between the two. Curious to see how he handles some of Ohio State’s bigs.

Tied up at five through the first media timeout. 15:48 left in the half.

    • Ballo has been a presence on the inside already. Four points to his name already. Neither Sean Stewart nor Aaron Bradshaw has looked comfortable guarding him so far.
    • Devin Royal gets the start today for the Buckeyes. His only missed game of the season was against Indiana earlier in the season. Averages 13 a game.

    PREGAME NOTES

    • Everyone’s good to go for today, apart from the usual absentees, Gabe Cupps and Jakai Newton. Meechie Johnson is OUT for Ohio State.
    • Today, it’s a big game for Indiana’s tournament hopes. Most media outlets I’ve seen have them in the last four in category. A win would certainly help, and a loss would certainly not.
    • Starters for the afternoon: Leal, Galloway, Goode, Mgbako and Ballo
