IU Basketball Recruiting: Hoosiers Offer Class of 2020 Jordan Geronimo

This week’s offer spree continues for Archie Miller, and once again the Hoosiers have looked to the East.

Wing Jordan Geronimo announced an offer from Indiana via Twitter:

Got offered by the University of Indiana today! #GoHoosiers @spsmbb @VerbalCommits @NERRHoops

    — Jordan Geronimo (@JordanGeronimo2) July 20, 2019

While “Geronimo!” is often yelled when someone is falling fast, ironically enough it is the exact opposite when it comes to the 6-foot-6 New Hampshire product.

It is often said that a particular player is a fast riser in their recruiting class, but perhaps no one fits that description better than Geronimo over the last couple months.

A relative unknown nationally after his junior year of high school, a spring and summer breakout has led to a new wave of interest and offers for Geronimo.

That breakout of Jordan Geronimo? Nowhere near complete. Outside of the blue bloods, wouldn’t be surprised if anyone else became involved. Athletic, can shoot, defend and added length. Has the chance to be very good

Just how fast is he rising?

It appears that Geronimo’s profile on recruiting service 247Sports was only just set up in recent days — and Geronimo is in the class of 2020.

There hasn’t even been time to update his profile for a wave of offers that has included Iowa, Texas A&M, Virginia Tech, VCU, Utah, Yale, Penn State, Penn, and Providence according to his Twitter account — just in the last week.

Playing for one of the top teams (Mass Rivals) on the Adidas circuit, you can see Geronimo’s rise even over the course of this spring and summer.

After playing fairly limited minutes early on, Geronimo’s stat line has exploded — especially this weekend at the Adidas Summer Championships in Ladera Ranch, California.

Overall, Geronimo has averaged 9.1 points per game, but that has ballooned to 17.5 a contest over his last two games.

He has shot the ball well throughout AAU play, making 53.6% of his attempts overall, including 34.8% from behind the three-point line.  Geronimo has added 4.1 rebounds per game on the Adidas circuit.

Geronimo attends St. Paul’s High School in Concord.  According to a source at St. Paul’s, Geronimo averaged 14 points per game while shooting 52% on two-pointers and 38% from three-point range during his junior season.  He added 8 rebounds, 3 blocks, 2 assists and 2 steals per contest.

Geronimo is No. 22 in his junior season highlights below.
