IU basketball recruiting: 2025 priorities clear as staff goes four-deep for top six targets

The top of our class of 2025 recruiting board hasn’t changed in a while.

And the actions of the Indiana staff over the last week have only served to reinforce the Hoosiers are focused on a relatively small but still promising group at this point.

Who are IU basketball’s priority targets in the class of 2025?

In no particular order, Jalen Haralson, Trent Sisley, Braylon Mullins, Bryson Tiller, and Mikel Brown have been right there throughout the spring and summer.  In the last couple months we added Eric Reibe.  And since then there’s been little doubt those six comprise the bulk of Indiana’s focus when it comes to the high school senior class.

In the span of seven days, the full IU staff — head coach Mike Woodson and his three assistants — have traveled together to make a statement.

Last week on Wednesday, Woodson, Kenya Hunter, Yasir Rosemond and Brian Walsh first went to LaPorte, Ind. to meet 5-star guard/wing Haralson, just days after he completed his official visit in Bloomington.

Later that same day the foursome stopped in Greenfield, Ind. to see coveted shooting guard Mullins.

The next day, Woodson and all three assistants headed south and saw Brown, Tiller and Sisley in one day.

And then today the full IU staff headed to Potomac, Md. to see top-40 center Reibe.

These developments came as the window for in-person recruiting visits to the schools and homes of prospects reopened last week.

The approach by Indiana is clear — make a statement when they show for a visit by bringing the entire staff.  It even spawned a graphic created by their in-house recruiting staff.

There is still the question of Nate Ament, who we still show as a main target for now on the TDH recruiting board.  Woodson and two Indiana assistants also stopped in to see Ament today according to On3s Jamie Shaw.  Rosemond went to Georgia and saw 2026s Caleb Holt and Colben Landrew.  IU offered Landrew after the visit.

It remains to be seen whether IU can elevate their standing with Ament and move into the conversation as a legitimate contender as they are with the other six.

In addition to Haralson’s visit ten days ago, the Hoosiers have Brown, Mullins, Sisley and Reibe coming for weekend-long visits over the next ten days.

And by sending the full staff on the road together for each player, IU is operating in a manner that suggests they believe they can gain some commitments in the weeks to come.

How big of a class is IU seeking in 2025?  They’d probably take three or four players.  And one thing working in their favor is that there’s very little overlap in the group of top six, meaning a commitment by one shouldn’t discourage anyone else.

We’ll see if Indiana’s four-deep strategy can help them close.
