    Hoosiers in the NBA: Stats Through January

    Nine former IU basketball stars are playing at the highest level of the game during the 2019-20 season.  We will be monitoring their seasons with monthly updates.

    Below we summarize their year to date performance with NBA stats through January and provide a brief update on each player.

    OG Anunoby – Toronto

    With Kawhi Leonard gone, Anunoby has assumed a bigger role in Toronto, and so far he is delivering with career highs nearly across the board.  The former IU star has been inconsistent from game to game but the Raptors are high on the potential of the 22 year old Anunoby.

    MPG – 29.2 (career high)
    Points – 10.4 (career high)
    Rebounds – 5.4 (career high)
    Assists – 1.6 (career high)
    Blocks – .7 (career high)
    Steals – 1.1 (career high)

    FT% – .649 (career high)

    Thomas Bryant – Washington

    Bryant has returned from a foot injury and is back in the regular rotation.  The 22 year old Bryant has been on a minutes restriction and coming off the bench at times which has caused his production to fall slightly.  But Bryant is still putting up career highs in most categories.

    2019-20 YTD Stats:

    Games/Games Started – 28/23

    MPG – 25.3 (career high)
    Points – 12.9 (career high)
    Rebounds – 7.4 (career high)
    Assists – 2.2 (career high)
    Blocks – .9 (tied – career high)
    Steals – .4 (career high)
    FG% – .583
    3FG% – .341 (career high)
    FT% – .739

    Yogi Ferrell – Sacramento

    Ferrell hasn’t been able to carve-out substantial minutes with the Kings this year.  His shooting percentages did tick up slightly in January.

    2019-20 YTD Stats:

    MPG – 11.4
    Points – 4.6
    Rebounds – 1.2
    Assists – 1.4
    Blocks – .1
    Steals – .3
    FG% – .427
    3FG% – .310
    FT% – .879

    Eric Gordon – Houston

    Gordon made headlines in January with his career high 50-point game last week.  With Houston stars Russell Westbrook and James Harden both out, Gordon showed what he is capable of.  The now 31-year old Gordon’s shooting percentages all shot up during the month of January.

    Points – 16.0
    Rebounds – 2.1
    Assists – 1.5
    Blocks – .4
    Steals – .5

    Romeo Langford – Boston

    The injury bug followed Langford to the NBA and he has bounced back and forth between Boston and the G-League while continuing to develop and come back from minor issues.

    2019-20 YTD Stats:

    MPG – 8.4
    Points – 2.3
    Rebounds – .9
    Assists – .2
    Blocks – .1
    Steals – .2

    Juwan Morgan – Utah

    Morgan signed an NBA contract with Jazz after a strong showing in the G-League.  The former IU star has split time between Utah and G-League since signing the deal.

    Rebounds – 0.7
    Assists – 0.1

    Victor Oladipo – Indiana

    He’s back!  After more than a year Oladipo returned to the Pacers on Jan. 29 and proceed to hit a three-pointer to force overtime.  Oladipo’s minutes will be managed for the foreseeable future.

    2019-20 YTD Stats:

    Points – 8.0
    Rebounds – 2.0
    Assists – 2.5
    Blocks – 0.0
    Steals – .5
    FG% – .182

    Noah Vonleh – Minnesota

    Vonleh signed with Minnesota during the offseason and has thus far seen a much more diminished role this year after a highly productive 2018-19 season in New York.

    Blocks – .2

    FG% – .547 (career high)
    3FG% – .143

    Cody Zeller – Charlotte

    Zeller has split time as a starter and reserve, but his production has been good despite fairly limited minutes.  The 27 year old Zeller is averaging 17.4 points and 11 rebounds on a per-36 minutes basis.  He has had two double-doubles in his last three games while averaging 7.5 assists over the last two.

    2019-20 YTD Stats:

    Points – 11.2 (career high)
    Rebounds – 7.1 (career high)
    Assists – 1.5
    Blocks – .5
