There was a heavy IU basketball flavor at the sultry Saturday afternoon kickoff of the 2023 IU football season. Program alumni Jalen Hood-Schifino, Trayce Jackson-Davis, Race Thompson, Nate Childress, Romeo Langford, Rob Phinisee and Devonte Green were all there.  Jackson-Davis was watching his brother Tayven make his debut as IU quarterback. They even shot some t-shirts into the crowd and were introduced to the fans. Head coach Mike Woodson was there too, along with everyone from the current team. Listen below as former IU basketball great Ted Kitchel joined The Ride with JMV on Friday to discuss a number of topics. Kitchel was a member of three Big Ten Championship teams in 1980, 1981 and 1983.  He started in the 1981 National Championship game against North Carolina and was a first team All-Big Ten pick in 1982 and 1983.
