Four years ago Luke Fickell led No. 8 Cincinnati to Bloomington and left with a 38-24 win that devastated Indiana’s hopes for establishing momentum among the nation’s top programs. Fickell rode his own momentum from that win to the 2021 College Football Playoff, and ultimately to the head coaching position at Wisconsin. My how the turntables have turned. IU men’s basketball’s redshirt senior forward Tucker DeVries was named Co-Big Ten Player of the Week, the conference announced on Monday afternoon. Meanwhile, senior guard Shay Ciezki won the same honor on the women’s side. DeVries shared the distinction with Ohio State senior guard Bruce Thornton. In a pair of Hoosier wins to open the season, DeVries averaged 22.5 points, 8.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 1.0 steal per game.
