IU football coach Curt Cignetti and the team were honored at the Indiana Governor’s mansion Wednesday in Indianapolis. Governor Mike Braun gave Cignetti the 2026 Sachem Award, Indiana’s highest honor.  Braun also awarded every member of the undefeated 2025 championship-winning Indiana Hoosiers team with the Sagamore of the Wabash. Cignetti was accompanied by IU President Pam Whitten and AD Scott Dolson.  Also in attendance was Indiana First Lady Maureen Braun, an IU graduate. The release from the Governor’s office is below. Indiana fans will have a chance this week to meet two stars of the 2025 football national championship team. They’ll also have a chance to see the national championship trophy up close. Wide receiver Charlie Becker and linebacker Isaiah Jones will be at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall Wednesday, March 4 from 5 to 6:15 p.m. ET.  They’ll be in the South Lobby.  That timing lines up just ahead of Indiana basketball’s brief Senior Night acknowledgement. Indiana is dusting off No. 11. For the first time since Antwaan Randle El left Bloomington, his jersey number will be on the IU roster. Wide receiver Nick Marsh will wear No. 11 for the Hoosiers in 2026 after discussing it with Randle El. Randle El’s No. 11 jersey is considered an honor jersey for players that earn the right to wear it. This No. 11 jersey resides in the Memorial Stadium Football Complex for players and fans to appreciate. It’s been a half decade of dominance by the Hoosiers. IU men’s swim and dive won its fifth straight Big Ten title Saturday evening in Wisconsin. The Hoosiers won by more than 300 points over second place Michigan. Indiana won its 32nd conference title and eighth in the past ten seasons with a final total of 1,544.5 points. Michigan finished second with 1,208 points, followed by Ohio State with 1,035.5 points. Watch as IU football wide receiver Elijah Sarratt met with the media at the 2026 NFL Draft Combine. In two years at IU, Sarratt caught 118 passes for 1,787 yards and 23 touchdowns.  He earned second-team All-Big Ten from the conference media and coaches panels in 2025. Sarratt is expected to be drafted in the earlier rounds of the draft. U.S. President Donald Trump is convening a roundtable at the White House to address the complex challenges confronting college athletics. IU AD Scott Dolson is among those invited, Yahoo Sports’ Ross Dellenger first reported. The roundtable is intended to cover issues such name, image and likeness compensation, the transfer portal, conference realignment, and the overall future of collegiate sports. Watch as IU football quarterback Fernando Mendoza conducted media interviews at the NFL Draft Combine in Indianapolis. Mendoza led Indiana to a 16-0 national championship season and won the Heisman Trophy along the way. He is expected to be the No. 1 overall pick in the April NFL Draft. Watch as former IU football tight end Riley Nowakowski sat down with CBS at the NFL Draft Combine. After starting his college career as a walk-on at Wisconsin, Nowakowski started all 16 games for the Hoosiers in 2025.  He earned second-team All-Big Ten from the conference media and third-team All-Big Ten from the coaches panel. Nowakowski caught 32 passes for 387 yards and two touchdowns in 2025.  He also rushed for two touchdowns, including one in the national championship game.
