Former IU basketball great Grace Berger is on the move again. The WNBA’s Dallas Wings have signed Berger to a seven-day hardship contract, the team announced this week. The 6-foot Berger has appeared in one game this WNBA season — 16 minutes in June when she was with the LA Sparks. Berger was the seventh overall pick by the Indiana Fever in the 2023 WNBA Draft. She averaged 4.2 points, 1.6 rebounds and 1.9 assists in her rookie season with the Fever, appearing in 36 games. She spent two seasons with Indiana before being waived prior to the 2025 season.…

IU quarterback Fernando Mendoza was named a nominee for the 2025 AFCA Good Works Team, it was announced earlier this week. The AFCA Good Works Team recognizes college football student-athletes from all levels of the sport for their commitment to community service and leadership beyond the gridiron. Last year Mendoza was involved in an initiative at Cal that was near-and-dear to his heart. Watch as former IU basketball forward Luke Goode joined Glenn Marini of WANE 15 in Fort Wayne to discuss the denial of his wavier for a fifth season in college basketball, and what’s next. Goode revealed earlier this week that his request for a waiver had been denied. Goode will play this weekend for the Fort Wayne Champs in the The Basketball Tournament.  He could end up playing against the IU alumni team Assembly Ball if both teams advance to the round of 16. Serbia outscored Spain 31-17 in the 4th quarter to complete a double-digit comeback and advance to the FIBA U20 Eurobasket semifinals. Incoming IU freshman guard Aleksa Ristic had another solid showing for his home country, posting 12 points and 5 assists for Serbia.  The 6-foot-3 Ristic was just 2 of 11 from the field including 2 of 7 from three, but he was a perfect 6 of 6 from the foul line and an overall plus-13 for the game. There is a very heavy IU presence on this year’s Assembly Ball The Basketball Tournament (TBT) squad. In total the team features 11 players who played for Indiana. The latest addition to the squad is 29-year-old Noah Vonleh.  The one-and-done Hoosier played seven years in the NBA. The team will be coached by Adam Ross, with former IU player A.J. Incoming IU basketball freshman guard Aleksa Ristic continued to impress on Wednesday as Serbia advanced to the quarterfinals of the FIBA U20 Eurobasket. Watch below as Ristic posted a double-double with 12 points and 11 assists in a 75-61 Serbia win over Ukraine.  After a slow start shooting the ball, Ristic has made 4 of his last 11 shots from three over the past two games. IU baseball legend and current Philadelphia Phillies star Kyle Schwarber clubbed three home runs — in three swings — in the first-ever All-Star game game “swing off” tiebreaker.  He hit three of his side’s four home runs in the tiebreaker to give the NL a 4-3 advantage and the All-Star crown. Veteran pitchers Cole Gilley and Ben Grable were selected in the 10th and 11th rounds respectively on Monday (July 14) afternoon to wrap up the 2025 MLB Draft for IU baseball. In total, four Hoosiers and two Indiana signees were selected among the 615 overall picks in this year’s proceedings. Previously, outfielders Devin Taylor and Korbyn Dickerson were chosen in the second and fifth rounds, respectively. Indiana has announced a date for the debut of the new Hoosier the Bison mascot. Hoosier the Bison will make its first public appearance at the IU football home opener on Aug. 30. Indiana outfielder Korbyn Dickerson was chosen in the fifth round of the 2025 MLB Draft Monday by the Seattle Mariners. Perhaps no Big Ten player saw their draft stock rise higher during the 2025 season than the Indiana redshirt sophomore. After playing sparingly at Louisville during his first two seasons of college baseball, Dickerson transferred to Indiana for the 2025 campaign and enjoyed one of the best breakout years that the program has ever seen.
