When the 2019-20 Indiana basketball schedule was released in late August it did not include any exhibition games. We have since learned that the Hoosiers will play a closed-door scrimmage against Marquette on October 20, and today the program announced that it will play one home exhibition game against Gannon University. The Daily Hoosier spoke with St. Paul’s School head basketball coach Max Gordon on his incoming senior forward Jordan Geronimo. Geronimo verbally committed to Indiana on Monday after an official visit over the weekend. Gordon is in his second year leading the program. St. Paul’s is a high academic boarding school based in Concord, New Hampshire. Q: Talk about Jordan’s improvement over the last year and the work that went into it. It wasn’t by chance that Jordan Geronimo’s first college official visit was to Indiana. He knew it might be the only one. “Indiana was my first official visit for a reason,” Geronimo told the Daily Hoosier. “I knew of Indiana’s reputation and that they played in a great league in the Big Ten, and also that Indiana was a basketball state and a basketball heavy school.” “So I had a feeling that there was a chance that I could commit after the visit.” Geronimo was hosted on his IU visit by freshman guard Armaan Franklin, and “spent a whole bunch of…

Jordan Geronimo must have enjoyed Bloomington. After his first ever college official visit, the class of 2020 wing committed to Indiana on Sunday night. The New Hampshire product confirmed the news on Instagram. https://www.instagram.com/p/B17dvCRBHZj/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link Indiana offered the 6-foot-6 wing in July. Going into the AAU season, Geronimo wasn’t ranked by the national recruiting services and he wasn’t hearing much from any high major college basketball programs. That all changed for Geronimo after an impressive stretch of play reached its pinnacle in July and saw the Concord product receive a wave of high profile offers and storm into the top-100 national…

There were some ups and downs in IU redshirt freshman Michael Penix’s first career start at Indiana. But a 24-for-40 passing day for 326 yards and a touchdown to go with two interceptions was good enough to earn the Tampa, Fla., native Big Ten freshman of the week honors. Penix added 67 rushing yards against Ball State in week one. He spoke with the media on Monday about his first start and looked forward to week two against Eastern Illinois. https://youtu.be/yI-KJLziRBU (Video credit – Jim Coyle / Indiana Sports Beat) You can follow us on Twitter: @daily_hoosier Find us on Facebook: thedailyhoosier…
