Archie Miller Adopts “Raving Lunatic” Approach to Get Team’s Attention

The typical post-game press conference is often littered with clichés and lacking in helpful insights or candid remarks.  That wasn’t the case after Thursday’s 87-59 Indiana win over Tennessee Tech.  In response to questions about Indiana’s approach to practice coming out of an embarrassing 92-72 home loss to Fort Wayne on Monday, Archie Miller provided some specific details on what practice has been like since then.

Some of the more colorful comments included acting like a “raving lunatic” yelling at practice, telling players that they need to be alpha dogs, and placing a greater emphasis on challenging people.  All of those and other comments were framed around Coach Miller’s view that what happened on Monday was “unacceptable”, which is a perspective both shared by IU fans and refreshing to hear from the first year coach.
