    A look at IU football PFF grades through 4 weeks: National and team leaders

    We are now a third of the way through the 2024 season, so this week we’ll take a different approach to reviewing Pro Football Focus (PFF) grades for IU football.

    Below are three different data sets to consider:  (1) leaders from the Charlotte game, (2) players who stand out nationally, and (3) team leaders across the various categories.

    CHARLOTTE GAME LEADERS:

    • Overall offense – Kaelon Black, RB
    • Pass blocking – Trey Wedig, OT
    • Run blocking – Andison Coby, WR; Zach Horton, TE
    • Receiving – Sam West, TE; Ke’Shawn Williams, WR
    • Overall defense – Jamari Sharpe, CB
    • Run defense – Lanell Carr, OLB
    • Tackling – Jamari Sharpe, CB
    • Pass rush – Jailin Walker, LB
    • Coverage – Aiden Fisher, LB

    NATIONALLY NOTABLE THROUGH FOUR WEEKS

    • Kurtis Rourke, QB, has the third-highest passing grade among QBs with at least 100 drop-backs.
    • Omar Cooper, Jr. WR, has the fifth-highest receiving grade among WRs with at least 20 targets.
    • Justice Ellison, RB, has the fourth-highest rushing grade among RBs with at least 35 attempts.
    • Mikail Kamara, DL, has the eighth-best pass rush grade among defenders with at least 100 pass rush snaps.
    • Josh Sanguinetti, S, has the 32nd best coverage grade among defenders with at least 100 coverage snaps.
