What Vegas is Saying About the 2019-20 Big Ten Race

A lot will change between now and November.  First and foremost — roster reconstruction.  NBA decisions remain, transfers are on the move and class of 2019 recruits remain undecided.  Big Ten rosters will change a fair amount between now and the end of May.

But if you want an early indicator on where things stand in the Big Ten for 2019-20 conference race, there is nothing more impartial than Vegas.

The Caesars sports book released odds for winning the 2020 national championship this week.  We converted those odds into an early look at how the Big Ten standings are currently expected to shake out:

    1. Michigan State – 12/1
    2. Michigan – 20/1
    3. Iowa – 50/1
    4. Maryland – 50/1
    5. Ohio State – 75/1
    6. Indiana – 100/1
    7. Purdue – 100/1
    8. Minnesota – 200/1
    9. Wisconsin – 200/1
    10. Illinois – 300/1
    11. Penn State – 300/1
    12. Nebraska – 500/1
    13. Northwestern – 1000/1
    14. Rutgers – No odds.

    (Odds according to Caesars)

Virginia has the best odds nationally at 5/1.  Duke and Kentucky are tied for second at 8/1.
