    Indiana Basketball 2019-20 Schedule Update: Hoosiers to Face UConn in Jimmy V Classic

    The IU men’s basketball program announced today that it will face UConn on December 10 in connection with the Jimmy V Classic in New York at the historic Madison Square Garden.

    The Huskies were 16-17 last year under first year head coach Dan Hurley.

    Indiana is 3-6 all-time against the Huskies.  The teams last met in November of 2013 in a game that UConn won 59-58 in New York.  IU’s last win in the series was a 2007 game in Hartford.

    This is both IU and UConn’s fourth appearance in the event.

    Louisville will face Texas Tech in the other Jimmy V Classic contest.  Tip times were not announced.

    Indiana’s previous appearances in the Jimmy V Classic were as follows:

    • 1999 – Indiana 82 North Carolina 73
    • 2009 – Indiana 74 Pittsburgh 64
    • 2014 – Louisville 94  Indiana 74

    The known aspects of Indiana’s 2019-20 schedule are below.

    2019-20 SCHEDULE

    • Gavitt Tipoff Games: Possible contest vs. Big East team to be announced in May 2019.
    • vs. Arkansas, at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall.
    • Big Ten-ACC Challenge: TBD.  Should be a home game.  Announced summer 2019.
    • vs. UConn (Jimmy V Classic) Madison Square Garden, New York, December 10.
    • Crossroads Classic: vs. Notre Dame, at Bankers Life Fieldhouse, December 21.
    • Big Ten Regular Season:  20 game conference schedule, with 2 games vs. Purdue guaranteed.
      • Home only:  Michigan State, Iowa, Northwestern.
      • Away only:  Illinois, Minnesota, Rutgers
      • Home and Away:  Purdue, Ohio State, Penn State, Maryland, Minnesota, Nebraska, Wisconsin.
    • Big Ten Tournament: Indianapolis, at Bankers Life Fieldhouse, March 11-15.
