    Indiana Baseball: Seven More Hoosiers Drafted on Wednesday to Set Program Record

    With three players selected on the first two days, things were just getting warmed up for the Hoosiers.

    By the time the dust settled on Wednesday evening, a grand total of 10 Indiana baseball players had been selected in the 2019 Major League Baseball Draft, setting a program record for a single year.

    IU has now had 104 players selected in the program’s history.

    Of course it remains to be seen which of the players will sign with their respective teams vs. return to school.  The seniors will obviously sign, and the players chosen on the first two days — Matt Gorski, Andrew Saalfrank and Tanner Gordon would also all seem likely to move on.

    Here are the seven Indiana players that were chosen on the final day of the draft.

    MATT LLOYD

    Lloyd hit .280 with 17 home runs and 59 runs batted in, earning first team All-Big Ten honors.  The senior led them team with a .575 slugging percentage.  Lloyd also had five saves and a 2.70 earned run average in 14 appearances as a reliever.  Being chosen was a major accomplishment for Lloyd after suffering through the disappointment of not being drafted in 2018.

    PAULY MILTO

    Milto was Indiana’s Friday starter throughout the season.  The senior finished the 2019 campaign with an 8-6 record and a 3.95 earned run average.  The Roncalli High School alum had 100 strikeouts and just 17 walks.

    SCOTTY BRADLEY

    Bradley hit .258 with 10 homers and 28 runs batted in and earned second team All-Big Ten honors.  The junior had a .529 slugging percentage and a .359 on base percentage.

    CAM BEAUCHAMP

    The junior left-hander appeared in nine games, starting twice.  Beauchamp had a 3.00 earned run average.

    COLE BARR

    Barr hit .255 with 17 home runs and 51 runs batted in, earning second team All-Big Ten honors.  The sophomore was the only Hoosier to start all 60 games.  Barr also swiped seven bases on the season.

    ELIJAH DUNHAM

    Among the regulars on the roster, Dunham led the team with a .310 batting average.  The sophomore also led the team with an on base percentage of .434.  Dunham added eight homers, 29 runs batted in and four steals.  He earned third team All-Big Ten honors.

    CADE BUNNELL

    Bunnell started eight times and hit .196 on the season.  The senior delivered the walk-off game winning hit against Purdue.
