Indiana basketball has offered several targets in the 2020 recruiting class that appear to be underrated based on their recent spring AAU performances.

While some of those players made incremental moves up the rankings, no one made a bigger jump that Beverly, Mass. native Matt Cross who moved up 71 spots in the latest rankings release by 247Sports.

Here is an overview of where Indiana’s 2020 targets reside in the new rankings.

    No. 16 — Isaiah Jackson

Jackson held steady as a top 20 five star.  The Hoosiers are a long shot with the Michigan product.

    No. 23 — Dawson Garcia

Garcia dropped a couple spots but remains a top 25 five star.  His recruitment is becoming more high profile but Indiana is in the hunt.

    No. 26 – Caleb Love

The challenges with a move to point guard haven’t held Love back.  In fact he went up seven spots and is just off the five-star line.  Similar to Garcia, his recruitment is growing with North Carolina entering the mix recently.  Indiana has been deeply involved for a long time and they are legitimate contender.

    No. 29 – Nimari Burnett

Burnett dropped four spots but remains a very high profile recruiting target with a wide range of high major suitors.  Indiana has a puncher’s chance with the four-star.

    No. 31 – DJ Steward

Steward was one of the biggest movers, jumping 28 spots after a huge spring.  Indiana offered recently and they are in the mix with the four-star.

    No. 73 – Zach Loveday

The 7-foot center dropped 22 spots.  IU got a recent unofficial visit from the Ohio native and things are looking up on this recruitment with the four-star.

    No. 78 – Hassan Diarra

The latest IU offer recipient in the class dropped nine spots.  Indiana will need to get the New York point guard on campus to get traction with the four-star.

    No. 89 – Matt Cross

The latest official visitor in Bloomington made one of the biggest moves up the rankings.  The Massachusetts native jumped 71 spots and earned 4-star status after a strong spring.  Indiana is a strong contender with Cross.

    No. 102 – RJ Davis

The New York four-star point guard moved up 10 spots after a productive spring.  Similar to Diarra, this recruitment will take on a more serious tone if Davis decides to visit IU.

    No. 103 – Andre Jackson

A rather surprising 48 spot drop for Jackson.  IU appears to be a long shot with this four-star target.

    No. 115 – Anthony Leal

Leal dropped 25 spots in the latest rankings.  He retains four-star status and remains the top ranked player in the state of Indiana.  The Hoosiers are on solid ground with Leal.

    No. 123 – Trey Galloway

The Culver, Ind. product moved up four spots in these rankings, but the 247Sports Composite rankings will be interesting to watch as several other recruiting services catch up on his strong spring.  Indiana is a strong contender for the four-star.
