Forward Justin Smith will graduate and transfer from the IU program. Head coach Archie Miller released the following statement on Friday morning: “Justin Smith and I had a conversation recently where we discussed his future, and the feedback from the NBA. In that discussion he made the decision to graduate and transfer for his final season of eligibility. I support his decision and wish Justin and his family all the best in this next chapter. I’m proud of his growth as a person, he’s a great young man and has been a terrific role model off the court and in…
Watch below as Indiana offensive coordinator Nick Sheridan and current IU quarterbacks Michael Penix, Jack Tuttle and Dexter Williams join former Hoosier gunslinger Nate Sudfeld for a roundtable discussion. At 7,879 yards, Sudfeld is Indiana’s all-time leader in passing yards by more than 400 yards. He got there despite having fewer attempts than the next two quarterbacks on the list. The California native had a better than 60% completion percentage every year, and a career percentage of 60.3%. Sudfeld’s 61 touchdown passes are also the most all-time for IU by a wide margin. Indiana head coach Tom Allen and Jones were both defensive coaches at the same time in Oxford from 2012-14 where they both worked under Dave Wommack, father of current IU defensive coordinator Kane Wommack. Jones was with the Rebel program from 2012 to 2017. Jones played defensive back for Alabama from 1995-99, and he started his coaching…
Nothing has gone as planned for junior cornerback Reese Taylor during his first two years at Indiana. Except that in ways that matter, things have gone exactly as planned. “Right now, I’m playing corner, but wherever Coach Allen needs me, that’s where I’m going to be at,” Taylor memorably said before his freshman season. He had no idea. An Indiana Mr. Football winning state champion high school quarterback, Taylor arrived in Bloomington in 2018 knowing that he would never play that position in college — until he took on the emergency quarterback role late in his freshman season. That was…
